it doesn't seem to be turning over very fast, so I would check the battery and alternator voltages.
was the little puff spitting out fuel? it could be needle valve sticking, does fuel come out the overflow pipe?

I think first thing is to check the battery if not buy a new one.
Than go on like said above.

Battery seems to be fine 12.6, 9.2 turning over & 13.8 started.
The puff was just smoke sometime it does a big one of them?
Where's the overflow pipe?

Seems to be a fueling issue to me but could be ignition. I would take the lid off where the below pipes are connected to (3 screws) and check that the float and float needle moves freely. if the needle doesn't and sticks you can use fine sand paper to remove some material on each edge.
Blue arrow is fuel pipe
Yellow is overflow

EUhm, in the movie your inlet manifold has a servo vacuum takeoff, but it doesn't seem blanked??
Would cause running on 2 cilinders. Also sounds like you have too much ignition advance. Try retarding the ignition a bit.
Goodluck!

Alex - I've had the carb of and cleaned it, I'll check the needle is good tomorrow how are you meant to check it though, take it off an just slide it in and out making sure it's smooth? & my carb doesn't have a overflow pipe
BlackTulip - I've had it started and run around my block and it ran fine then went crap, wouldn't it just be crap all the time if it was the timing?
Dusky - The manifold is one that you can connect water to it I think?
Thanks for the help guys anything else I should check?

It goes over fine with the coil disconnected because you have too much ignition advance.

that manifold servo take off needs to be blanked off as what dusky said. i'm sure this is the problem.
