Just a list of mods and a decibel reading if possible would be great!

A lot of it is down to the amount of sound insulation installed. That is none in my case so with a single box playmini exhaust its exceptionally noisy! I also suffer a nasty harmonic vibration of the exhaust at exactly 60mph...

Both cars are standard as far as i know, with stage one kit, full exhaust.
998 has a 2 inch full system with DTM back box
1275 has a
1.75 inch maniflow manifold
2.25 link pipe
3 inch piped back box

BL launched the 'Quiet Mini' in the Summer of 1980. It incorporated extensive sound-deadening in the floorpan, front bulkhead, dashboard, roof and boot, plus a new headlining material. The effect was to produce what could more accurately be called a 'quieter Mini'. Over the years it was slowly reduced under cost reductions and in the front floorpan area it seemed to promote rust by trapping the water leaks

is it like a drone that comes in then goes as you go thro it as go bit quicker
on mine its around 3300 to 3500
I don't know what to do to get rid of it
all I done is put plenty sound deadening and sound proofing to help
and it does help

My rally car is 95 Db at 5000 rpm at 0.5 metres from the exhaust outlet and at 45 degrees to the centre-line of the car. Thus it meets MSA requirements for historic road rallying. That is with a Maniflow 'cherry-bomb' as the centre box and a reinforced RC40 rear box, all 1.75" diameter in order to achieve optimum power and torque from a 1310 cc engine
