One Carb Or Two?

Hi all,
Just bought a metro turbo plenum off ebay, and it has had the restrictor taken out of the plenum. Now I can make another no problem, but has anyone got any pictures of the original plenum restrictor and any measurements to help me fix this current one? Somebody turned it into a N/A plenum 
I have the internal diameter but no idea what the shape and measurements of the restrictor are. Please somebody help!!! Pics would be perfect too, as I'v searched all over but can't find anything.

Is it not just a flat piece of sheet with a 37mm (or was it 38mm, hmm) hole drilled through ?
the restrictor is there to reduce the volume of air going through the carb body to create a pressure difference between the plenum and butterfly. this difference then pressurises the float chamber (4psi above body pressure) so that the carb continues to work as per N/A methods i.e. air flowing over the needle/jet draws fuel from the float chamber rather than blowing it back down.
so surely the restrictor shape has no effect as long as it is just a flat plate.
feel free to correct me if anyone disagrees

I was looking around at a few pictures and came across this one

It looks like the plenum has a piece of pipe inside it and it is at the top where it restricts the air flow as you can see inside the big hole that goes onto the carb?
