hi guys I've just replaced the seats in my mini with ones from the same year. My question is do I have to use the adjustment bracket or can I just bolt them onto the black thing. I find they dip to much using the bracket but my main concern is safety, and if that means its less likely to shear off in a collision I wont hesitate putting it on

sounds like you have a seat extender adjuster thingy

if so they can be removed & seat fitted normally

 

otherwise I think we need pic's

The extender brackets have quite a few holes made on them (mine do anyway) so maybe you could use a different hole to bolt the chair to?
