So after a lot of electrical gremlins and faulty components the wiring is complete and ready to go. Time to start on the interior build which has kind of centred around the fibreglass dash that came with the car. I decided to use some of the same material as the textured headlining from optimise automotive to cover it. Im really pleased with the results so far!

Suspension and brakes finished! I noticed that although the ride height is balanced, the front right hilo is adjusted a lot shorter than the rest. Anyone got any ideas what could cause that?

After getting it back up and running I tried to tune it a little and I found the mixture screw well and truly siezed. After hours trying to sort it and cracking the original carb body trying to free it off a replacement was sourced. Now running much better after a rebuild!

Some progress now made on the interior

Dash board trimmed and test fitted, just need to get the centre console done to match

Carpet down and drives seat mounts sorted, starting to look like a real car again!

Looks great, but how do you access the heater controls?

The fan control is now on the dash switches and i have locked the heater to windscreen heating as i only plan to use the car in summer. The heater valve and choke are both on brackets underneath the dash to keep things tidy

It's material from optimise automotive, they sent some leftover from the headlining and it seemed perfect for the job. I'd recommend having a chat with them

Ride height - getting the ride height looking correct is only half the battle, ideally it would be corner weighted.

The rear offside corner is heavier due to the fuel tank (especially when full) so that corner wants to sit down further and hence lift the front nearside.  Natural thing to do is adjust the front nearside hi-lo to bring it back down, whereas with corner weighting you'd probably lift the rear offside.

In a road car, setting it on looks is usually enough - the length of the hi-lo doesn't really impact the handling per se.  If it was a race car, you corner weight it and ensure the balance was spot on.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Will16. I managed to some how lose my bonnet pin spring and he sent me one refusing to take any money for it. Really helped me out I now have a bonnet that opens and closes correctly on its cable.

I understand what you are saying about corner weighting, I had my grass track car done a few years ago and it really helped it get off the line. If I find I start tracking this I'll probably have it done.

I'll get some more pictures up soon, it's getting close to being ready for MOT, really looking forward to driving it!

A few snaps almost ready for MOT. Just need to get a new exhaust system sorted as I really don't like the dtm. What do people recommend, maniflow or rc40?

I've got a maniflow on mine gives a nice note and with 1.75 exit it doesn't get to the point where you can't hear the radio or people talking in the car.
Great work you've done there she's a beauty
