HI,

I currently have 1986 Mini City e 998cc Auto (in a very poor state)

The car is stripped down as it wasn't in the best of states, engine, gearbox, electrics, brake system are all currently still on/in the car soon to be removed.

i want to make this car run again but also I think a manual conversion is the only way to go, so im thinking a more powerful engine around the 1275 or a 1.3 from another make, so unsure of which would be the cheapest engine option for this conversion?

far as i can see the mini needs pretty much everything, from interior and everything else right down to its tyres.

I am in no rush as i have a daily vehicle so finding the best parts is really in mind, but i do have a tight budget sadly, but i am able to do most work and fitting myself.

on a side note i have had people mention grass track and track cars to me... still unsure if i want it road legal or for these options.

how much work is needed to making basically a shell of a vehicle road legal? as this is probably the option i would prefer, and how hard/expensive is insurance on a vehicle that has been built like this?

many thinks in advance for any guidance, tips and help received :)
