Thats the major flaw with those repair panels. They don't follow the shape of the wheel well properly.

You should be able to cut some slots in it to let it out to there it needs to be and then add some steel in to close it up.

Good going though!

Ben

Great progress well done. I'm sure some sheet fabrication will fill that gap. Lookin good ;)

finished of the heater today all shot blasted etch primed the gloss black, all new screws and rear nuts. i have brazed up around all the outlets and fitted a new heater matrix with all new foam surroundings.

looks hell of a lot better than it did, glad i done it th as so much dirt grime and dust came out to fill the lid of a spray can.

all tested and works really, well on the bench anyway.

I am a mechanic for a major coach company we run brand new busses and also as old as 1990 lay lands so we have a really good salection of metric and imperial items perfect when working on minis lol. I used 1/2x16 pan head screws worked a treat and look the part.

managed to get one side of the rear welded back in new heritage subframe bracket and heritage closing panel. a little bit more fettling and should be good but then ran out of daylight. only had a few hours yesterday on it.

also manage to borrow a spit for a couple of days so i got it to work and used it as a template just made it hell of alot stronger as it seemed quit flimsy.

just need to make the subframe  jigs some now if any one has plans i would love to see them.

the black ones are mine treated them to a coat on chassis paint to stop them rusting.

all comments welcome
