hi guys i got a 1984 austin mini sprite i want to upgrade my engine to a 1380cc or 1430cc turbo. i found a engine block on ebay A+ 1380cc mini metro turbo engine block. markings on block is WFM1024 AF5. the bores are measures approx 73.2mm. so basically i need to know where i can find the rest of the parts and the best place to get them. i also would like to know how i would make it a 1430cc turbo engine. i really appriciate any help and if anyone selling any of the parts for the engine. i also want to build this engine as a personal project of mine. i know its going to cost me alot but im willing to still build it even if it takes me time. :shades:

Thank you

I know this is not the answer you were expecting and I know it will sound incredibly negative, so please forgive me...

With turbo engines, boost makes power not CC.

Consider  that 1430cc is 12% increase in CC over a 1275cc block - you could make the same power increase by running 10 PSI boost instead of 7 PSI. Also consider that increasing that increasing CC makes it harder to reduce the compression ratio which you need to do to run a turbo.

I'm just finishing my own 998 turbo project and haven't needed to buy one item that was from a 30 year old metro turbo. There is NOTHING magical about the turbo blocks so don't waste time and money searching for overpriced worn out parts just because they say 'turbo' in the title. There's a hell of lot of concentrated information on the internet if you search for 'turbo minis' so I think research should be you're first action, not gathering parts.

you will best best off buying a complete metro turbo engine. with turbo etc

rebuild it and drop it in.   less hassle less work and prob save yourself a few ££££

as above no need to go big on cc

1275 or 1293 is perfect and piston choose is better.
