I have been on with rebuilding my 1275 A series engine with few tuning mods,I was considering fitting a Aldon 100AY-I electronic ignitor distributor,

http://www.aldonauto...T_ID=41&P_ID=99

I was wondering if there worth the expense of fitting or just going for a cheaper electronic ignition distributor?

http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

The engine is now a 1293 with 11 stud 12g1805 cooper head with a reface and polished ports and chambers.

Lightened flywheel and back plate and a three ring cam, think there a 266/270 fast road duration?

I also have put 1.5 roller rockers and twin 1 1/2 su's.

Is there a vast improvement from fitting the Aldon distributor that justifies the expense????

Any experience with this or advise before I make the purchase would be welcome.

Standard distributor curve wont cut it and you'll b far better off to getting a Aldon yellow to rep the mods done, if your using the car on the road get the Aldon with a Vacuum advance thats a must for light throttle running, improved torque crusing and improved mpg

A cheaper option is to stick with points and rebuild your standard Lucas dizzy with modified advance curve. But this can take quite a bit of setting up to get anywhere near right, and also depends on what mechanical advance you have in current dizzy.

If cam has 3 rings then likely to be 731 profile 268/268. Depending on CR you are likely to need quite a bit of static / idle advance as you are using 1.5 rockers. This is where getting dizzy settings right can take quite a lot of effort...
