just dug out the drive shaft out 'the store' to be painted and back in, is it right they are 2 different lengths or have i picked up 1 998 one and 1 1275 1????

I'm sure there's lots of reasoning behind it which I'm sure an expert will provide lol

Short one is the left one, long one is the right one. Different lengths because the outputs of the gearbox are not central to the car.

with respect to what sprocket, from the front or from sitting in the drivers seat?

generally when people are looking at heir engines they are looking at it from the front

So you take the left wheel off to look at the right drive shaft.

Sorry, realy not intending to take the p!ss, its just that its the week end and the engines going in and Im on a high. Sorry but it is silly

but do you chnage the oil from the drivers seat?

for instance i say the rad is on the right because thats where is ee it when i open the bonnet.

just me and my weird thinking i guess.

Because if it was on the right, the whiney drop gear would be defunct.

Well with respect to the engine, the rad is on the front rather than the left or the right. The dizzy, starter and alternator are on the right, which is of course at the front and the carb is on the left which is the back.

When you're under the car slotting driveshafts in, it's fairly obvious which side needs the longer one.

does that mean you stand at the left hand rear side of ur mothers sisters cousins uncle, and then the engine is located on the front left hand side of the gap in the sheet with the bolt in the thing that holds the engine to the shell which my mate seems to think is poinltess but if you remove it the whole world will actually end and all exictence as we know it will be defunkt.
