Hey Folks,

Been doing a bit of searching but haven't found much info on this.  I live in NC and frequent the NC mountains which get a great deal of snow.  I would like to be able to drive my mini up there. Do they sell chains for mini wheels? I have 165/70 R10's.  Are there other solutions that others have found to be better?

Any guidance would be really appreciated.

Have you tried snow socks? I've seen a few videos of them and they look quite good apart from as soon as your off snow you have to take them off otherwise you ruin them. I'm not sure what size tyre they go to though :(

I saw them on another site but it looks like they don't go down to my size wheel.   :(

I live in NZ and have a set of 10" chains for a mini. So they "were" made. Not sure how common it would be now.

Remember a topic on here discussing this, but can't seem to find it.

Managed to google it though! French supplier of all things 10" - chains, studded etc. pricey, but definately worth considering if you get 1m of snow every year...

Not snow chains, but I bought some winter tyres a few years back and fitted then to a spare set of wheels. It's really surprising how grippy they are - you could almost drive like you would on a dry road... although everyone gasps and waves at you like you are mental.

Here's a vid of winter tyres on an indoor ski slope. Pretty cool.
