Hi everyone,

I'm buying a genuine heritage for my classic mini for its full restoration. I know there are two types for the dry suspension, but the only difference I can see is the exhaust hanger. What I was wondering was if I could fit the later post 1991 subframe with the exhaust hanger, since I will be fitting an aftermarket exhaust anyway to my 1990 car or do I need to buy the pre 1991 subframe. Here are the links

Gen Late Type = http://www.minisport...abs_description

Gen Pre 1991 = http://www.minisport.com/fam6292-mini-rear-subframe-for-all-dry-suspension-mini-models-up-to-1991.html

Thanks in advance

either, the hangers are the only difference. I personally would go for the early one as you have the choice then of different types of mount to bolt on including the hook type

They are interchangeable and if not needed you just cut off the late-type exhaust hangars. The early exhaust mountings are much more reliable anyway and they were only changed to save Rover money (situation normal!).

Thanks guys for clearing that up, as you say i'll get the earlier one and have the choice of how to mount the exhaust.

It's a good idea to anti-rust treat it before assembling & fitting.

Blow Dinatrol or equivalent into all the hard to reach areas and the enclosed bits.

The mounts are also slightly different, I think they interchange OK though.
