I recently purchased a mini mayfair on Saturday and want to start buying parts for it. I've looked on the internet and it's saying a mark 5 or a mark 6 but still not sure, I've googled the VIN and it says it's a sterling made in 2002. Can any one help?

The last minis were built in 2000.

If it's a 1991, then it should be a Mk5. It could be that the vehicle was re-registered in 2002, maybe after a Category D write off or similar?

It Should say in the log book if it was written off and re-registered shouldn't it? can you tell by looking at it in my Display Picture?
Many Thanks

As I understand it, if it's a mark six, then it should have the auxiliary electric fan in the nearside inner wing, it should also have the seats with twin post head rests that were fitted to the Spi models (assuming it still has the original interior). Also I was under the impression that the mk 6 onwards were all 1275's, so if yours is a 998 then that would indicate it's a mk5.

It's a 998cc so must be a mk5, on the date it was first issued as well it was the 4th of January 1991 so I was swinging towards a mk5 as they wouldn't be making the mk6 that early in the year
