nothing I recognise.... have you any idea which part of the car it came from...
The bolt in the back ground looks decidedly reverse thread, no idea

The bolt is right-hand threaded.
The parts bag was in my "gearbox/clutch" parts bin, so I believe the parts are so related.

I think that's just a bent bit of tin which someone has bodged at some stage, probably use to be a U shape...
The bottom Bolt and Nut however, is for connecting the upper rod of the rod change mechanism to the bush in the back of the gearbox.

I don't think it was bodged. It is too well formed for that to be the case. I didn't take photos of that part of the car prior to disassembly, so I can't determine its original location. Your hint regarding the bolts suggests that the part is from that area. Barring any further info, I'll look to fit it there when I reassemble.

but why? it will make the bolt too short. as in part number 5.

but this has got me thinking.
is the Box "new" could it just be a transport part in that area?

I use the term bodged, because I don't believe it was originally designed for the purpose it has been used for...
I suspect that someone has tried to straighten a piece of bracket which could have come of of anything, not necessarily a vehicle let alone a mini, and possibly used it as an exhaust steady, I've seen alsort of things used from meccano, dexion racking, angle iron etc etc etc

Remote servo bracket does sound a possibility. It does look like it might be a bit distorted but the curve section looks deliberate, so what would it fit or clear?

What do you mean by remote servo?
