Hi all

Can you drill and tap the holes for the heater tap on the left hand side on a mg metro head as im fitting a mg metro engine instead of a 998

Yeah you can drill and tap it, but be careful you don't go through the inner wall edge. You have to drill it slightly off centre towards the top left of the tap, only SLIGHTLY though. 

 

The best way to do it is start off small and gradually making the hole larger

i dont know if i should drill and tap the holes from reading other post...

could someone that has done this let me know if this is correct or is there another way around this?

I honestly can't remember if they were blind holes, but if you do drill through just use some thread sealant. You could drill the water passage first, so you can measure how much metal you have to play with, if you want to attempt blind screw holes.

The two holes for the screws are already tapped, the only thing you need to drill is the hole through for the water, which is best done with a 13mm bit.

Do i also need to drill 3×3mm holes in the thermostat as i hace no bypass hole on the water pump
