Was just wondering if these are worth getting if your mini is lowered? I know the miglia use them.
Im on about a spacer that goes on the bottom ball joint in case anyone is confused. I can't find a decent pic of one.
Thanks

You mean the ones that screw into the hub? I think KAD do them

I've never known at what point they become "necessary". I suppose the theory is that it corrects the roll centre on really low cars?
Gawd knows, but I'd like to understand more about it!

I'm changing my brakes and hubs to mini ones. And wondered if I should get a pair before I get it all set up.

Lowering the mini at the front lowered the roll center. Adding the ball joint spacers will raise the roll center.
What the spacers can do is help with clearance issues. Bottom arms being in contact with the hub when approaching full lock.
For a road car I don't think you will be going anywhere near that far.

I was just about to make up something just like these, I had no idea anyone was offering them off the shelf.
Just looked at The KAD Website and couldn't see them, could have they come from another supplier?
Thanks for sharing.

Owens, KAD and Mondo Sport have all made/make them. There are probably a few other Miglia regulars who have there won version including Selby Engineering who do what probably the best engineered version. There's a very good explanation of how it works on their Facebook page.
I have a set of the Mondo Sport style ones for my estate but it's yet to see the road.

That is how low you can go before you blow the ball joints.
Bit of wood just slides in. 100mm
Ahh the wonders of iProducts. Sorry upside down.

The Miglia/Se7en set-up guide recommends a ride height of 7.25" from the ground to the sill seam at the bottom of the A-panel and 8.25" from the ground to the sill seam in front of the rear arch. The Miglias are also tubbed and have the wings trimmed out for tyres clearance to allow them to run that low.
I would measure your car then call Mondo Sport or Owens Fabrication and ask them to be honest. It's also worth noting you'll need adjustable bottom arms and tie bars to get the geometry right.

At what point do you think it's worth fitting a pair?
I don't.
But like I said there can be instances where they are needed due to clearance issues.
