Rover Mini Sidewalk Spi Immobiliser Problems

Best Answer Mini-Mad-Craig , 03 December 2014 - 12:45 PM

Did you disconnect your battery before changing things? The 3 and 5as systems are very sensitive to any changes in the electrical circuits. Check all of your fuses.

Try taking the car out of gear, putting the handbrake on, ignition on and then bridge across the starter with a spanner. Go to the full post

Hi all, so im having difficulty with my immobiliser or so i think it is, I've tried re syncing the key fob with no luck but i do not believe thats the problem as then i arm disarm the immobiliser you can hear it click and the LED still flashes. Im assuming this is the fault of the immobiliser but am unsure, the dash doesn't light up and the car no longer attempts to turn over (ITS DEAD!). Any help at all would be much appreciated as it got to go off for paint soon and i would prefer it running. Thanks all!

Auto or manual? Have you reset the inertia/fuel cut off?

Start by replacing fob battery. Although if it is activating the relay then it shouldn't be a fob pairing problem. Does the fuel pump prime on ignition?

Ok let me try to explain a bit more clearly. The car wont turn over at all. The key fob still seems to work as the Unlock button stops the LED flashing and the lock button makes the LED flash. Disarming the immobilizer doesn't do anything, Arming the immobilizer doesn't do anything. I've tried re syncing the fob with no luck I've tried disconnecting the car battery and re syncing after that but still no luck. Currently there are no doors on the car or boot lid. the door switches are not connected but the boot lid is. The car has started and run fine until this morning after i changed the clock from the 2 clock set up to the 3 clock with was just connecting the rev counter with the plugs already there (Id assume that would have nothing to do with it) I'm lost at the moment and have no idea why it wont start. Id really rather not have to spend money getting it repaired or removed as i need all available money for paint. If anymore info is needed please ask!

Inertia switch is fine as the pump did prime before it cut off not all that works are things like indicators, lights etc etc (Not that their connected) and its a manual

Well, i feel rather daft hehehe should have checked the fuse first. I jumped to immobilizer because I've had problems with it before. Thanks for the help though :)

So I think I am having the same issue as you Shingler4596. What was it that you finally did do to get it to start. I'm confused if it was a specific fuse or???
Thanks
