Thanks Steve

I actually saw these, however they seem almost inaccessible! Do you need to take the top dashboard rail off to access them? Or is there another way?

Hi Steve, I actually didn’t realise that the whole unit just pulls out. I think if I do that first, then I’ll be able to easily access the screws...

Be sure to use LEDs of same output colour as the lens they will illuminate through. Reds for brake lamps, amber for turns etc.

Also, as noted, they tend to be directional, less light spread. A good solution is to fit LED array boards instead of the more readily available bulb format LEDs.
Ive bought array board type brake LEDs for my classic motorcycle from these guys:

http://www.dynamoreg...onversions.com/

They have a good selection of options for classic car LEDs.

Hello,

I am searching for a pair of LED tail/brake light which works fine in the Mini. In case it makes a difference, I have a '99 Mini MPI.

I have just tried a red 1157 BAY15D from: https://www.aliexpre...3061570123.html , unfortunately the difference between "tail" and "brake" isn't much: "tail" is way too bright.

Does anyone have already tried the one from Classic Car LEDs: https://www.classicc...t-glb380-p21-5w ? Or any other model to recommend?

Olivier

Well, I have just received and tried this one for tail/brake light: https://www.aliexpre...2852694085.html (red BAY15D) and they work very well! There is a clear difference between "tail" and "brake". Hoping it will last a long time.
