I have got a leak of some sort in the engine bay, the leak is just off centre on the drivers side. I don't know if it's me being paranoid but the breaks seem very spongy? Could the leak be linked? Cheers guys

Check if the fluid leaking is brake fluid. It has a particular smell and feel. If it is, you have answered your own question. Given the brake cylinder and pipes are on that side of the car, then there is a chance.
