Used to have one
How it goes it's depending on so many things actually..carbs, manifold arrangement, head work etc
Usable revs 1500-7000
Flies from about 4000 rpm
Best diff ratio 3.44

I've got one in my 1380 (i know not the same as a 998) but with a decnet head, lightened flywheel and twin carbs it absolutely flew!!!! right up until the exhaust valve stuck open and it all ended with a bang...ha ha.
Decent cam that everyone overlooks....but what it would be like on a 998 i'm not too sure.
If using a 12G940 head on a 998 block, make sure you pocket the block......been there and snapped rocker arms before working out what was going on!!! (I was 17 in my defence!)

Depends on the use of the car. Everyday car : no.
Weekend car: yes . Easy as that ;)
Running a BL 544 cam in mine (288°) , getting a weber on it now, but it flies.

Set up right in my 1330 it is drivable every day, but I would imagine its not so much torque in the small block engine

ive just brought a 276 cam for my 998, 12g295 head with 33x29 valves, flat tops ectect, it will be sort of a weekend fun car as I will be able to walk to work, but as said above a friend put a 286 in his 998, it was bloody awful! so I imagine 276 would be just about right for faster driving, for everyday use 266 might be a good move!
