Heres one for you guys. I have a squealing sound coming from my engine bay. It only does it once the car is warmed up and with the engine running. The car could be stationary or moving and this continues. The weird part is when the handbrake is put on even a little bit then it stops. It sounds like its coming from the water pump area. If the water pump is at fault how can i tell? Should there be movement in the pulley shaft in and out? Its seams fairly solid and rotates freely. I dont really want to have to change the water pump to find this was not at fault so i thought i would ask here first.

Cheers if anyone could shed any light on this

Sounds like a slack hand brake cable touching the exhaust.

If it's really only stopping when the handbrake is applied (and you've tested this several times to ensure it's not a coincidence) then as Nick has said, check the handbrake cable isn't fouling somewhere on the exhaust.  I can' think how close they are as standard without looking at it, but the only way the handbrake could stop it squealing is by taking up slack in the cable rubbing somewhere.

Hope you get it sorted.
