Hello all i am new, This will be my first post and i thought would show you my car and how its going.

This is what the car looked like when i first bought it around 3-4 Years ago now at the time i was please i paid around 6k give or take. i was happy i had finally bought a mini after loving the cars since i can remember. There were a few scratches and other marks around didnt really mind to much. Just a few little things annoyed me but easily fixed.

I loved the car couldn't be more happier but it was time to start fixing a few things that annoyed me. So i started by removing the recaro seat that were in the car so i jumped on ebayand after a little while found a pair of original seats for the car only issue was there were brown not like the rear that were cream so i found a seat cover for a bigger seat and stretched it to fit over the rear seats. After that i set up to do a little work on the outside i remove the stickers on the windows and repainted the grill and a few minor scratches got buffed out.

I then drove it like this for around 4-5 Months until i blew a head gasket, At that stage i thought it best i do a little be more work on the engine so i tied up all the wires and remove old connections and replaced with new ones ect and over the course of a week or so i was happy with the car and went about fixing the head gasket. I was finally done after around a week and and half was ready to hit the road once again. A few months went by and i had a few minor issues with the car over all wasn't too upset but it got me thinking ever time i fix/replace a part a different part on the car would be broken so i though it would be best if i just started from the ground up so with a little help from dad we go it started.

Here are a few picture of the start. In the beginning we removed all the inside of the car seats, carpet, dash ect and were surprised to find little to no rust in the floor but we did find around 100 or so different holes were people had dried or cut for different things in the past and there were all covered by duct tape or carpet. After was removal or all the random parts lights, grill, fuel tank until all was left was the subframes and engine.

Next to go was the engine so that came out of the car in around 2-3 days give or take just a little help was required from dad and it was out.

After that was to remove both subframes and all the wheels, exhaust ect

Once that was done the car was in the garage for around 2 month until i found a place to sandblast the car at the good price. So off the sandblast it went.

Over all was happy with the progress and the rust was better than expected was surprised to see it has had an accident in its life time And this is were i am up too i will keep you posted on whats going on in the near future.

Lovely looking clubby, good luck with the work planned. I see that your clubby has the 3 clock setup with a rev counter. Were these standard on the aussie clubmans?

The way everything was set up led me to believe all of the dash was put in after market. But it did have factory wiring for the three gauges behind the steering wheel although the gauges aren't factory.

Oh sweet so the wiring loom had the wires for the rev counter? Then you should keep it, cause a rev counter is awesome

Those additional gauges seem like a good idea as well. I would love a battery charge gauge on my car, since i've had a few battery problems :P

The centre switch cluster that includes the heater controls is also a really nice touch on the aussie clubbies, makes the whole space look much neater.

Yep its saved me a few times i must say. This is a picture of when i was pulling it apart just gives you a better look at the dash. Also had a small little red light on the top of the dash that tell me if i left the hand brake on :P

Nice project to be getting on with there. My clubby will be getting virtually every external panel bar the roof replacing next year. Accident damage to sort as well. Good luck with the build.

Thanks yea mine has had a little ding at the front end you can sorta see the filler on the side panels. i am replacing both a long with a list of other parts. Funniest part about it was, it was cheaper to buy all the body panels and patch panels out of the UK instead of buying them in AUS

Ahh fair play, something to remember for the future especially if you need any other parts. You can make some serious savings though.
