I own a 1997 mini cooper in BRG which is being restored currently. I'm after the decals, bonnet strips, laurels, and thought they were Old English White for the later mpi's

Having looked at the Vin Plate I have RCR code which = HAM + NAL, having looked at this site. http://www.allbrit.d...de1990_2001.pdf

it states its BRG and Diamond white.. Anyone know if this is correct? Wood and pickett also say the MPI used old English white decals, so now I'm confused.

Thanks Gemma

I spoke to John Parnell, who's the Rover Cooper registrar for the Mini Cooper register, about this a while ago. My car, which was registered on 1st March '99, is the earliest one they have recorded which has Old English White mirrors/roof etc, so it probably changed some time early 1999. All MPis before that were Diamond. Your car would have had Diamond White new, definitely.

Thank you!! That's a great help. The diamond white are easier to source.

Thanks for replying

Buy the ford diamond white, my 1993 sprite is Rover diamond white from factory, which is around £40 per litre... Ford diamond white is around £15 per litre, its slightly creamier than the rover colour but only anoraks will know ;)
