However, after sanding off the paint in various areas something strange has appeard, the shell goes from red, to metallic blue, to grey primer, to bare metal.
now this wouldnt normally suprise me if I had found various colours then an original colour then primer then metal, or if it was on flat panels where it would be easier to perform a bare metal respray.
but its not, its everywhere, behind the dash, inside of quarter panels, inside the roof, even on the underside of the rear window rails!
Even more strange is that the car has been off the road since 98, the guy who I got it off has owned it for 20 years, drove it for 4 then laid it up in his barn for the 16 and it has been red all the time hes had it.
I thought that these estates have only found value in the last few years so why would somone go to the hassle of COMPLETLY bare metaling and respraying it?!
All I wanted to do is find the original colour but it just doesnt seem to exsist haha!
coould it be a factory optional extra? Its definatly a metallic blue sort of subaru shade, over grey primer which is over steel. The entire shell is the same no other colours anywhere.
