I will start off by saying, while I was looking for another project I wasn't looking for one right now. But when a project finds you I think it's meant to be. The day after Christmas a guy that my dad knows stopped by the house and asked if he wanted 2 Minis. Obviously we immediately said we have to at least go look. So that afternoon we went to go look at these 2 Mini's - one was really a Morris 1100. The other one is my Lizzard :D  that I paid for with the tyres I sold from the turbo Clubby.

Why do I call it a Lizzard? Well, its green, its scaly and it has a tail. Its a South African Mk3. The car is pretty much complete including the engine which was in pieces in the boot. It needs a lot of work in my eyes but isn't actually all that bad. It needs repair panels behind the doors, outer sills, front floors, a few other rust repairs and the front end to be straightened. Also a paint job to remove its scales that make it look like it was done with a paint roller.

Time for pictures as proof or its all just a fairy tale. First I will show you its skin(can't call it paint) :

Trailer ride home (all of 2km):

After a little bit of a clean up, removal of engine(from the boot) and removal of rat droppings:

And the repairs to be done:

Thanks, the basic plans are to build it to what it could have been with todays technology. I'm thinking hybrid like my Clubby but that's later's worries. For now its focusing on sorting out the shell.

Saw photos of this, you guys got it for a steal. I am still amazed at how the dry air up there preserves these minis. Good luck with the project :)
