urm i dont see how the tower bolts have fallen through into the subframe from the piccys with means i personally thing u have a hydro subframe and the fact is u need to use the correct bolts to hold it in place.

if correct bolts and spacers used it will be fine with no probs but it wont line up correctly with single tower bolt because the guild hole is too big

look in the faq at Guessworks solid subframe guide.

That is what a single tower bolt subby mounting should look like.

and have a look in Ade's project to see what a twin bolt subby mounting looks like

yep i know i am right in terms the car will never work correctly with a rubber mounted subrame and also the car has the holes for a solid mount frame, so it might be the case that some idiot has used the wrong bolt in a twin bolt frame which is easy and my guess looking at the pics, also when the cone was in the bolt would not fall though subframe as it has now.

i am sorry but i cannt believe that no-one has picked up on the subframe floating like a chip in a bucket, and for all one garages ranting over another in my option they should have noticed this before the other work

i'll go out in a sec i'll poke around and look, bascally if going from ades pic if i need his suspendion i should be able to feel a funny shaped indet in chassis if not the other and i'll also poke the sub frame while i'm about it..

i still find it strange how it seemed to fit flush before

NO YOU CANNOT USE TOWER BOLTS WITH THE TYPE OF BODY THAT YOU HAVE.

YOU NEED TO GET A DIFFERENT SUBFRAME. I.E. TWIN BOLT.

ok clam down, no need to shout i do get what your saying ^^

explain to me then how it all manage to fit flush before? i mean that is all that is baffling me...i mean if it was ok before why not now? i've had a look at some pics before and it appears to be secure and all tiight regardless of hole and type of subframe.

has ade still got his?

well as for the pics i've only got about 2 and i'm only just really looking at the gaps that appear and there is none all rubber mountings between subby and chassis look tight and ok. If I need a new subby i need a new subby car will just have to go off the road....again. :'(

i am listening trust me i just have lots of questions also.....about stuff i dont quite get also i have to realise as for not seeing the car you may not get also :(

one being on the older subby like you say i need is the subframe supported only by 2 bolts on each side like ades or does it have that big nut also? its a bit unclear from ades car as he has plates over them?
