Hi iv just fitted a lbc 3 branch manifold to my mini mpi but a rubber hose/pipe going to the throttle body is to close to the exhaust and has burnt a hole in it. Is the hose/pipe important or is there a alternative? Please help

hi and welcome

well its probably the hose that goes to the idle air control valve, the main issue with a hole I think would be that you could end up sucking un filtered air in, so not great. however it shouldn't really be touching at all, got any pics?

I had a similar problem with my old specialist components stainless manifold. Literally had a few mm clearance. I then swapped to a maniflow LCB (for an unrelated reason) and this has a larger clearance.

So could be just the tolerances that you manifold has been made too

I think the hose you are referring too is the black rubber hose that you see on the left popping out from under the air filter and then disappearing down the back of the engine

Sounds like you OK but I was going to suggest a silicon hose.

I just used a plastic hose clip and a zip tie to hold the pipe away from the manifold.

I've also got the SC SS unit.
