As the engine I bought was an SPI but has been converted to be able to run a carb would I still need there hoses or a different kit?

It really depends on what parts ancillaries from the Spi engine have been retaine. The main difference is that the bottom hose on the Spi has an extra take off for the heated inlet return. If the heated inlet has not been retained in the conversion to carb (or it's not been plumbed in ) then you will just need a kit with a standard bottom hose instead. Probably the easiest way would be to take a look under the bonnet and see which type of bottom hose you actually have under there currently,

The other difference is that the heater circuit take off arm on the Spi bottom hose will be the slightly larger 5/8" sized bore, to match the slightly wider hoses and unions on the rest of the Spi heater circuit. The heater take off on a standard bottom hose will however be the slightly narrower 1/2" bore, but you can buy a reducer/union to join the two different sized hoses together. If however you're also planning on replacing the heater circuit hoses with silicon versions as well, this won't be an issue, because silicon heater hoses tend to be 13mm diameter (I.e the smaller 1/2" bore) and with a little persuasion the 13mm silicon hoses will stretch to fit over the larger 5/8" inlet/outlet on the heater matrix.
