Hi
I'm new to the forum. I am close to finishing a rebuild of a 1275 with my lad. We rebuilt the tub and installing a 1275 engine from a donor car. I need some information regarding the water hoses, I intend to use the heater in the car. The Haynes manual does not show pipe routing or layout. Any help would be appreciated than you.

The heater and the heater circuit plumbing was changed in the early 90's models, so in a K reg model the take off for the heater should come from a sandwich plate beneath the thermostat housing, and not from a tap on the opposite end of the head as it was in earlier models (such as an 89). Both the inlet and return heater hoses then pass through the bulk head on the passenger side of the car near the wiper motor, with a plastic in line valve connected to the inlet hose. Both hoses then pass down the passenger side of the car and into the footwell, where they attach to the heater matrix, which unlike earlier models, had both outlets on the passenger side of the heater that were mounted at ninety degrees.

If you have an 89 engine and a 93 car with a 93 heater, then you will either have to re route the inlet hose across the engine bay (from the take off on the drivers side of the engine/head) or blank off the heater take off point on the drivers side of the head and then fit a sandwich plate beneath the thermostat housing, as would have been fitted in a K reg car originally.
