I have a 1980 Austin mini and the heating has been playing up for a while. As I don't use it will it affect the car if I remove it all together? Or is it too hard a job? Thanks

Hi,

Your thermostat may be not opening and closing, this is possibly the problem here unless there is an actual blockage.

Flush the system out backwards out as well as replacing the thermostat and gasket.

It is not hard taking the heater box out, but unless you really need the room at the front there?, leave it be. 2 jubilee clips, 2 self tappers and 2x  1/4 nuts to undo and that s about your lot. then join up the pipes under the bonnet.
