Hi all I have an excellent tip to share with you to stop your mini windows misting up in side, get yourself a microfibre cloth apply some fairy liquid neat and smear on the windows, but don't rub it off. You will find it leaves a film on the windows and they will never mist up again. I have tried all sort, special cloths and sprays but have found this method the cheapest and most effective so thought I would share to all those who don't lay up their mini for the winter months.

Does it leave a sticky residue on the glass? Does it affect the clarity?

I use the rainex anti fog stuff - works pretty well but if you aren't very careful it will cause glare from oncoming headlights which is a slight safety risk....!

old skool the use of soap it is the glycerin in the liquid soap that stops the misting.
but your best bet is to start of getting the carpets dry and keeping the water out.

When you say don't rub it off, doesn't it leave a mess?

It does leave a residue on the glass, thats why it works, it does not effect the clarity as its only used on the back and side windows, the so called heater should clear the windscreen, but the main thing its as cheap as chips, try it what do you have to lose

Cat little idea works similar to silica gel packs, worth a go if your car is a long time sufferer of damp.

Having soap on your window will attract dust and dirt residue which will build up. You'll try and clean in and it'll all smear, reducing visibility.
And by having the soap already on the window a damp cloth will soon shift it, dust and dirt is never a problem in a mini in the winter the condensation settles it to the seats and carpet

Buy a Ford, oops tin hat on
I couldnt live without the quick clear screen on my Mondeo!
I use one of those microfibre sponges for the windscreen in the Mini. I got a pack of 3 for £1 from Lidl. Cracking the window open slighlty helps as it draws in fresh air.
