bus just threw up stone done bullseye crack half inch by half inch

 

its 4 1/2" in from the windscreen edge  driver side middle

 

I assume mot failure

 

suppose better ring footman james see if covered

Even if it is covered its probably cheaper to just buy a new one yourself. A new windscreen is around £30 if I remember rightly

I bought one 2nd hand(i needed the car for the next day) for £30 a new one is about the same though::

I don't know what the practice and laws are in the U.K. but over here bullseyes can be repaired if they have not started to spread into cracks.  There are DIY kits and professional services that inject a thin resin into the damaged area and after it cures the windscreen is typically very serviceable.  I have had this done on three cars as it was done "free" under my insurance whereas new glass was subject to my deductible and going to be expensive.

The damage can only be a 10mm on the drivers side. As above you can pick a brand new screen up for £30 or a second hand one for about £15 so it's not worth going through insurance.

I picked up a windscreen on eBay for a five, definitely worth not going through insurance.. It also means you can replace the seals as the insurance people probably won't
