Are you intending using the 2 bolt fixing manifold for the HS4? or a HIF 38 4 bolt manifold ?

Hey,
I'm intending on using my manifold that I have at the minute, it is one of these. I can't remember if is 2 or 4 securing bolts

Those ones should have all four bolt holes, you'll just need to get some extra studs

Ok I'll get those. Will I need anything else ? What is the advantage of using a spacer between the carb and manifold ?

I don't think the throttle quadrant (where the cable goes round) will clear the manifold without a spacer fitted.

Hopefully your carb will come with one of these then the proper throttle cable will slip into the holder.

You can use the two diagonal bolts by themselves for the time being.

Get hif38 gaskets as well......as usually gaskets will tear when you remove them

Ok guys so I've managed to sort out what I need. I do have the abutment plate so I got new throttle and chile cables with a all the relevant clips and grommets etc.
what I couldn't get was a spacer for the carb to the manifold, does anyone know where I can get one ?
Also couldn't figure out if my standard round air is would fit on the hif38

Minispaes has them listed here and here . They don't have a HS4 one listed....but do have this , and block off the port.

The same airbox will work as it did for the HS4

Cool thank you so much for that ! I will grab one and do my change over this weekend.
Now the only thing I need is a new vacuum unit but that's next weeks problem hahaha.

Hopefully the change over to the hif38 is simple enough

Would something like this work ? http://www.amazon.co...d/dp/9790810539
It States that it is for a hif44 not a 38. Not allot of them say hif38 so I don't know what to buy

Depends on the installation, many 38's will have come off Metros. Metro accelerator cable have a plastic fitting at the carb end that fits a slot in the abutment plate. You can make them fit, but there can be clearance problems.
