Exhaust Emission Warning Light On Dash

The history to this is, I heard what sounded like some knocking under the bonnet and when I switched the car off, once switched off this noise would happen for a few minutes and then cut out.I took the car to the garage and had some work done, this consisted of new discs and pads on the front and pads on the back. I also had a new water pump fitted, I knew that this work needed to be done.
I also had them do an oil and filter change. They used their diagnostics equipment and found that I had a faulty oxygen lambda sensor. They replaced this. I drove the car away and parked up. I then went to start the car but couldn't due to a flat battery. This was also replaced. I then got the warning light on the dash. The car went back in for a few days so they could look at it. It was in their words the car recognising the new oxygen sensor. I drove off and no warning light on the dash. It then came back on again. I took the car back and they kept it for a few more days. They fitted a front oxygen sensor as they said, as they fitted a rear one that they should have fitted a front one?? They said that they had driven the car and no warning light present after several test runs. I get the car back today and also well but after ten minutes of driving the light is back on the dashboard. Any advice would certainly be much appreciated.
The car drives fine and I have no problems in that sense. Many thanks. Paul

Hi all, I was hoping for a bit of advice regards some car trouble lately. The warning light for the exhaust emission has come on the dashboard. This is in Orange.

Hi there is this for a classic or newer mini?
If it is for a classic mini it would help to say what type it is but i suspect its for a BMW mini in which case mini2 might be a better forum as this is mainly for classic minis someone may be able to help but the majority of owners on here own classic minis.
