Not in any real rush to sell but obviously i would like it gone, still in the car at the moment so you are welcome to come and view/hear running or whatever. got the valuation from valuation area but i have added a number of parts to go with it so would ask for £1500 ONO, might be able to arrange having it shipped but would seriously prefer collection. If or rather when someone buys it i will then remove it from the car.

car has done no more than around 5K miles since it was built a couple of years ago and the engine was built fresh for the car. The engine has always been very well looked after and regularly serviced...spec is as follows.

Head:

Stage 2
double valve springs
35mm/29mm valves
1.5 rockers
thermostat sleeve

Block:
1275cc bored to 1380cc
73.5mm powermax pistons
standard crank and con rods
glyco bearings
285 camshaft
new followers and push rods
duplex timing gears
high capacity water pump
high capacity oil pump

Gear box:
reconditioned and final drive changed to 3.1

Ancillaries:
13 row oil cooler with braided hoses
auxiliary radiator with silicon hoses
2 core performance radiator with silicon hoses and electric fan/adjustable thermostat.
water heated inlet manifold
HIF 44 carb set up on rolling road for the engine
stage 2 maniflow exhaust manifold with y piece
aldon distributor with electronic module
sports coil
cone air filter
breather filters
polished rocker cover
high output alternator

Rolling road figures put out: 98.5 BHP and 116MPH top speed on 10 inch wheels, cooling improvements have been made since so expect slightly more power.

heres a picture of the engine but obviously when i had twin carbs on it, it now runs a single HIF 44...

Like i said anyone is more than welcome to come view it in preston just let me know via PM.

Cheers

Place a wanted advert on here and Turbo Minis. You will collect the parts in no time. :proud:

Found this on Ebay.

Ebay: eBay item number: 271749017724

The seller also has other parts for sale.

Out of interest what spec are you going for. :) I'm going for 998 turbo. I'm still collecting parts ATM, and doing the conversion in two years time.

Take it your going for a Saab gt17 turbo. :shifty: I'm going to take a back seat for a while, and save some money, then come back all guns blazing, and get on with the conversion, including EDIS conversion using MS2. Already got the ECU, just need to send it off to get built.

not sure yet, GT17 seems most appropriate at the moment but seeing as i'll be making custom manifolds anyway i might find something a little different...we will see anyway, and keep me posted about your project i'm sure a 998 turbo will make for an interesting little motor!

Will do. Looking for more torque mainly, whilst keeping the original engine block, and love the sound of old 8v turbo engines.(RS turbo, R5 GTT). If you fit a bulkhead box, 'Matty' on Turbo Minis can build you a custom manifold, and downpipe.

Yep i agree, just a fan of forced induction really! i was trying to avoid the bulkhead box if at all possible but yeah his name comes up a lot on the forums. Plans change Though, so maybe that is a route i'll explore!

I agree about not cutting the bulkhead, if possible. I'm planning on using a tiny T15 turbo, and 'Matty manifold, with adjustable engine steadies. If a good condition, with no crack, R5 GTT turbo appears for sale at the right time, I will probably upgrade.

May turbo engines be load and glorious. :bah:

Hello Danmini,

who built the engine and were the power figured provided in the advert with the twin SU's of the single HIF?

Do you have and receipts for the build?

the people that built the engine build 'minisports' engines and the power figure provided comes from the twin su's but the single HIF has exceeded these stats.

Sounds to me like you want a gt1752 turbo and buy a short matty manifold and you won't have to cut the bulkhead

Really?

In my naivety I thought that Minisport built their own engines, inhouse.

Is that not the case?
