So im looking to get some drive shafts made to complete my conversion but have come up against a problem:

When contacting Rob at allspeed he says the teeth for the CG13 shafts are 22t at the micra end of the Drive shaft ( and obviously 19 at the mini end). Now i can only count the splines in the Gbox and there are 23/24 depending on how you count it. I dont have an actual drive shaft to count the teeth on - only the inner CV / G/box hole if you follow? Im assuming there ARE 22t on the end of the 1.3 driveshaft but then the inner CV it is connected to has more teeth?
Has anyone done this conversion to confirm?

Thank you!

There have been a few well written up projects "Big Chief" (iirc) was the guy in West Indies that sparked a lot of interest in 'em.

You're not confusing the driveshaft with the inner CV? The shaft is splined into the inner part of the joint, the joint's outer is splined (female) to the output from the diff.

Yep ive just worked it out. Male part of the driveshaft is 22t which mates to the inside of the inner cv which is 22t. Then the end of the cv is 23t which goes in the g/box. I think!!

The Micra uses a pot joint very similar to a Mini but where the pot-joint connects to the diff is the opposite way around to the Mini i.e. the gearbox end of the pot is a splined shaft rather than a splined hole. This is irrelevant as it's not being changed. There is a ball & cage joint on the end of the actual driveshaft that goes into the pot (again just like a Mini) It's the spider in the middle of that ball& cage affair that will come off a Micra driveshaft and be put onto a custom driveshaft. The other end of that custom driveshaft will be the correct number of splines to be shoved into a Mini CV joint and it'll have the two grooves for the two circlips.

You will end up with something like this.

The far ends are for a Mini CV joint and the near ends are the correct splines, seats and groove for a circlip for that spider you can see next to them to be fitted. Once it's balls are re-fitted, greased and everything it goes into the pot joint that's on the gearbox already.
