Afternoon,

Anyone know the head size of the single bolt holding the speedo drive? Want to know I have the correct small size spanner before attacking the job (because I guess it'll be imperial)
Cheers

Sorry, hope someone else can check for you

Just had a quick look online and if it is the one i think you are on about then it should be

1/4 UNC x 7/8''

This is one of the few places where you can use either metric or imperial wrenches.  The 1/4 UNC bolt will have a hex head 7/16" across the flats.  Therefore, you need a 7/16" spanner OR you can use 11mm.  This is one of the few places where metric and imperial wrench sizes overlap close enough to use either.

Thanks Mr Lawson. I will make sure I have a 7/16", I am a stickler for using the correct tool for the job.

unless it's A+, then you'll need a 3/8" socket.

Yes you can change both speedo drives, worm and pinion, in situ, but remove the radiator first to gain better access.
