Which rounds are you planning to do this year? Shelsley Walsh/Loton Park, also saw that there is one at Chateau Impney Hill Climb in Droitwich. Hope to pop along to one or two.

I destroyed the 1st engine in Donington park so this is the revised engine.

This was around 2 years ago in Castle Combe, this was a bit of a testing day. Until a water hose cut it short! Lol

It does sound good, any videos of the mini?

I have a few mini videos here but nothing of it but not any comp stuff - https://m.youtube.co...8-0RgJYLq7i7Pyg

Definitely Shelsley, and Prescott and potentially a couple of others. I have tickets to watch Chateau Impney, I'm sure it's closed to vintage cars.

It's a great venue. I have a couple of track days booked this year too, so I'll try and get a bit of footage from that too.

Have you built up the mini motor yet?

Reason I ask is I have bought the MED Vernier Belt drive kit that they released last year and there are a few things that I am not so impressed with.

First and most important, the timing case is not sealed. The crank damper/pulley doesn't have a seal around it so there is about a 5mm opening between the damper and the timing cover where anything can get in at the crank drive pulley. I'm seriously unimpressed by that. The mini motor is exposed to lots of spray and grit where it is and not environmentally sealing it seems ludicrous. Never seen any other car have its timing gear open to the environment.

Second the machining, while very good and extremely pretty isn't always spot on. In my case the timing pickup for the ECU does not line up with the MED management damper toothed wheel when the crank damper/timing wheel is tightened up. There are also washers inside the housing that I had to file by hand to clear the walls of the case so they didn't force the bolt out of the hole as I was mounting the timing housing.

This cost me six hundred and fifty pounds by the time I got it here to New Zealand and paid the import GST, and to end up with something that is going to fill up with water, and needs washers to shim the pickup out to where it will do its job, well I feel a bit cheated to be honest.

I see what you mean. I haven't started my new build yet, I will be using my vernier chain drive and not a belt system. My current belt system is a toothed belt drive for the alternator and water pump.

Cheers

Both cars are very nice indeed, good work.

Look forward to seeing more pictures.
