Not as tricky as you might think. The bolt heads for these are located under the footwell carpet. I jacked the car up one side at a time to do them using a second one to support the subframe from sliding backwards and closing the gap.

How often do the bolts snap if they have been in for a long time?

Wire brush the threads as best you can then douse them with WD40 the night before :)

the bolts for these are ussually pretty easy to get out as they get covered in oil.

+1 on this.

Mine were very oily and came out easily.

Even if they do snap, you'd just push them out, they're not captivated or anything (atleast mine weren't).

Has anyone got a picture of what to undo and where?

its fairly simple mate...

if the bolts have snapped, peel back the carpet in the relative footwell, and you will see the bracket with the 2 bolts in it. it just pushes out when your mounts are off. undo the 4 nuts on the mount itself and pop the bracket holding the screws in (should just pull out from inside the car in the footwell).

there are a few ways of support the frame so the gap doesnt close too much:

1. what Steve said above, use another one (or something similar to prop the gap open)

2. rest a jack on the front of the subframe (just rest it on the subframe, dont put to much pressure on it)

i used the second option last time i did this, because you can usually lower/heighten the jack 'SLIGHTLY' to adjust the gap diameter.
