As above, the fuel line is disconnected from the carb. However, that begs the question... when you crank the engine on the starter fuel should be pouring onto the ground from somewhere. You didn't mention any spilled fuel though.
Make sure there is some fresh fuel in the tank. With the car on stands, trace the metal pipe from under the fuel tank to the front of the car. If the car has an electric fuel pump, factory pumps are mounted on the left rear subframe under the tank. If it has an aftermarket electric pump it could be located anywhere along the fuel line at the whim of the previous owner who installed it. Mechanical pumps are mounted on the back of the engine. Trace the fuel pipe from back to front noting what type of pump you have (mechanical or electric) and make sure the fuel pipe is intact (not crushed or damaged). At the front of the car look for where the fuel pipe runs up into the engine bay. Once you know you have fuel and can get the pump working you will need to install a rubber fuel hose between that disconnected pipe and the carb inlet as described above.
For now do not worry about the vacuum advance connector with the screw in it. Get the engine started and running, then worry about the vacuum advance.
