So here's my new project mini I just picked up last week, it's a 76' Austin Mini 1000. She's really a clean straight car but needs more lows...pretty much stock suspension. Was from New Zealand. I'm the 3rd owner as far as I could tell from the pole of paper work and records the PO gave me. Was very well maintained-documented over the years.

Good:
Has a stage one performance kit installed and rear drums with the built in spacer/lugs.
Car came with Cooper s 7.5 disc conversion (not installed)
I ordered hi Los, adj lower control arms, springs, rear camber adjuster plates.
These parts will fix the only bad things on the car besides a few dings here and there.

Leaking front wheel cylinder.
And I need to adjust the clutch.

After looking and looking at over 200 pages in the "stance" thread, I'm on the fence of Im going to go with arches or not. I really like the no arch look and low stance just not sure what wheel to go with after I get these new brakes on. Maybe painting the roof an off white or dark silver will see....

I guess you guys want to see pics?
The day I pick her up.

My 510(datsun 1600) is going to be a bit jealous but that's ok for now, she's About 99% complete just waiting for some small parts to get her back up and running....that's a whole other story.

Thanks, I'm about 45 min from NYC out on Long Island. I'm guessing your coming to the city? First time?

I've regretted selling my 1st mini that I did a complete restoration about 5-6 years ago, but had an offer I couldn't refuse. Been waiting and always looking for another one over here that was in good shape, so after all the rust buckets, I found this one. Plus it was pretty much local. Super excited about the new build/project.

I traveled from Vegas through California to San franciso in August last year and brought my partner a New York holiday for Christmas so will be flying out in 3 weeks.

I done the same first mini was my pride and joy but when I sold it i wish I never did now got a new one and so it starts over again. Lol

Congratulations on your purchase. The mini looks in great condition! If I were you, I'd keep it standard. But that is just me :)

Should hopefully be better weather by than,we've been getting hit hard with snow and freezing temperatures!

So a little progress made over the past few day, have a ripped inner cv boot so I need to disassemble the pass side disc Brake that I just put together. No big deal, just want it done right while I have the front end apart... Still waiting for parts so... Getting there.... Hopefully 2 weeks she'll be ready for spring!

Lovely little car you have there. I'd keep the roof yellow, really suits the car. Liking that Jeep as well.  =]

So I just fitted a lot of goodies this past week but I think I might have an issue with my front hi-Lo's.

The rear came out great and have plenty of adjustability but the front hi Los are spun all the way down and still have a 2 finger gap between the tire and fenders, so I can only go up from where I'm at...anyone have the same issue?
The car is sitting/looking nice at this height but I it's not dialed in yet.

Here's what I installed
Front/rear blue springs with hi Los
Lower adjustable control arms(set the the stock length rt now)
7.5cooper s brakes with new hoses.

Here's some shots...in the garage but you can get an idea of how she's sitting.

Took her for a ride to see if I had any rubbing and so far she's smooth!!
Just thought I'd have room up front to go lower...(not that it needs to)

If the hi-los are wound all the way out and you still need more then you need to renew the rubber cones. They squash down with age.

Then the springs are too short :(

Do the springs come with a spacer? Like:
