Just getting my youngest sons car ready for the paint shop. I want to fit a roof aerial but here is the strange question. Apart from the obvious in the centre but how far are they usually placed from the front of the roof.

thanks

I would place the base after the curve flattens out unless it is an Ariel that the base follows the contour of the roof curve?

Some of the Aerials have a shaped base / seal. I fit them where the shape of the Aerial best suits on the contour of the roof.

Make sure it doesn't interfere with double skin

The roof isn't double skinned.

Or you could get a internal aerial that sticks to the window. There not expensive and I've never had any trouble with reception.

If you're fitting a late mini aerial to the roof and you can wait until this evening I will measure mine.

on a 97 Cooper, it's exactly 6cm from the base of the aerial to the bottom of the gutter - pic attached.
