Hi I recently had my car resprayed and when the doors were removed I saw that the hinges were knackered, got some replacements and fitted them no problems. Passenger side is fine, but the driver side is slightly too low, so I have to slam the door to close it properly. If I lift the door slighting upwards whilst closing it, it shuts fine without slamming. How do I raise the door?

You need to add a shim under the bottom hinge but be careful not to add too much.

You need to add a shim between the door post and the door hinge at the bottom,.

Thin bit of metal, just depends how much you need to move the door. you can buy them but are very easy to make your self.

Stainless steel would be ideal. Using washers is not ideal as you really need the whole hinge contact area to to touch the door post.
