Hey all

Upon fitting my new bonnet I loosely bolted it onto the brackets and pushing it shut.

Now I need to adjust it to sit right but can't get it open.

Any ideas?

It's an external release mk3 van bonnet.

Much ta

is it that the pin is not disengaging? if so give the bonnet a wiggle with the handle pushed over and lift it slightly at the same time.

Try wiggling it, whilst applying slight pressure forwards on the badge area. Usuly works when mine gets stuck!

The bonnet on my City doesn't open properly so I have to to wiggle with it whilst using the external release for it to pop slightly up, then push the spring/pin back for it to release the bonnet from the catch in the middle. Then it's a simple case of raising it up after pushing the latch back.

Cheers lads. I think it will just be a job of wiggling and jiggling then.

Much ta.

If wiggling don't work, then I usally remove the grill and use a screwdriver to push latch.

If it has the mini van front panel, which i assume it does, there won't be a grille to remove!

I think as stated it will be pushing the bonnet around and stuff to get it open.

All done.

Took the front grille off, then managed to move the pin around to free up.

Ending up having to bend the pin slightly so it would latch strait.

Much ta for the help lads!
