I rang Carole Nash classic car insurance for a quote, modified mini from 998 to 1275+MG head, wheel change, lights, interior, exterior, but it still looks like a mini.

They said they could not quote me,due to my postcode.

Reason given, they are clamping down on risk postcode areas?? :ohno:

So i have a mini,i cannot insure, but they will for my motorbike at this same postcode....Baffled!! :goaway:

There has been a horrendous spate of mini thefts in Brum over the last couple of years, I bet that's why they are being funny about it.

I have just insured mine with adrian flux.....I did contact carol nash...they were in at £209 for 3000 miles....where as adrian flux was £160 inc agreed valuation, after a bit of digging I found out both brokers were using the same insurence company....£50 cheaper exactly the same cover,so do shop around...

I had a six wheel policy with Carole Nash but was told they don't insure modified cars so I've switched to Adrian flux.

Got one quote for agreed value from Peter James Ins,unlimited mileage, even tho i only wanted 3k miles, for £260.

May try Adrian flux, but the threads on here do not review them to good....Such a ball ache tho, listing every mod, from original spec out the factory.

Peter james had a form to fill in,that made all this easier, before a quote.

Can't fault Peter James. Been with them for two years now £135 fully comp, agreed valuation etc etc. I will see how that changes once the Clubby is finished being fully restored with an upgraded engine (998 to 1293)

To many horror stories about Flux. I did use them in the late 80's with no issues but now personally I would stay clear.

Neil, is that unlimited mileage?  I've had the ballache of all ballaches with Adrian Flux so I'll be raring to change when the times comes round again.
