Brake lines can be bought pre made and just need bending to shape so again not difficult

Are you comparing like with like? A complete secondhand frame may be good value, as there's less work in stripping it. Though you'd be replicating parts you can reuse from your old one. It could be worthwhile fully stripping for an overhaul in any case. Some subby bolts are prone to shearing, which is a pain, but even more if it's on the car.

Hi, I bought and refurbished. Got a Subframe with all the suspension still attached (complete with drums but less driveshaft’s) £60 on EBay. Then I bought a pair of driveshaft’s including complete and Un split pot joints and brakes (8.4”) still attached £55 again from EBay. Added to this was a Minispares 7.5” brake conversion kit (Calliper’s, discs, drive flanges and pads) paid £147 for that show price from Bingley, should have £189 and New CV joints, upper arm repair kits and rubber cones.
Probably spent around £550-£600 that included all ware items and two brand new genuineTimken wheel bearing kits they are out there if you look for them paid £24.50 for both sides would have been nearly £100 at Minispares.
Refurbished and used the hubs, driveshafts, pot joints and steering arms and I have all the 8.4” brake parts I need if I ever want to go to 12” wheels.
Cost and time scale were not the overriding considerations I just wanted to do it myself and learn at the same time.
