Float Chamber Over Fliw

Just a quick one have recently replaced needle valve and gasket and now the bowl in overflowing it has a white plastic float is there any way to adjust the height of the float ?

does the new needle move freely with no sticking? if it does rub the sides down a tad with wet and dry.

If this is the "all plastic" float without the bendable metal tab, your only adjustment is to change the thickness and number of small fiber washers used between the bowl lid and brass valve body. In a recent thread it was pointed out to me that these fiber washers are not even listed as spare parts or available outside of the rebuild kits. Back in the 1970s I remember all the rebuild kits that included a float valve came with these parts but their use was never explained.
Lacking those fiber washers you may be able to find copper or aluminum crush washers (at your parts store) that can be used to set the float level. Regardless, make sure the underlying problem is not debris or trash stuck in that new valve seat. It is not unheard of for old rubber hoses to sluff off bits of rubber when being handled.

I assume you mean that you made the washer out of an exhaust manifold gasket. Regardless, I'm glad this fixed it for you!
