so i bought a spaceframe shell.  has been used for a while and is in damn good shape considering! i will be making my own complete spaceframe chassis consisting of a 2L duratec (turbo) engine up front, a sadev sequencial 6 speed gearbox and independent double wishbone suspension as used on a caterham CSR.  i must be mad. wish me luck this is going to be a long one!!!

first job is to build a flatpatch at my work to build up the chassis on and make jigs of the suspension.  this is going to be a bonkers mental machine!!   PS dont ask for updates, this isnt going to be worked on flat out untill at least december, i still have the mini7 to finish building and to race!

wahoo!  cheers

Mmmm sequencial sounds cool. Are you going to be making your own chassis or buying one and adding to it?

I've got big plans for a FWD spaceframe Mini.

I don't know what your machinery budget is but I can highly recommend the Pro Tools 105 tube bender that Stakesy's sell. Clicky

They also sell a couple different hydraulic ones that are the same price as a manual Baileigh one and their dies seem to work out at a little over half the price of Baileighs offerings.

Ooh cheers for the heads up pal, will look into it!! As for cost I'm not too fussed. I said this is a no compromise jobbie so il buy whatever is necessary to do the job. Probably not a hydraulic one, how else am I meant to stay warm?

This will be cool, you can have a front engine rwd saloon and ill have the estate! Mine will be primarily a drift design though, may have to get you to sort me a gearbox though

Nope, sod that I'll be a straight cut 6 speed and just make a ridiculous short shift! I'm putting an engine in that cost me£100 to buy and only another 1000 to build and turbo so no, I'll pass on the g'box haha
