none of them are Quick shifts. they are Knob travel reducers.

the seep of the shift is limited by the syncros.

on issue with reducing the travel of the Knob is that the sideways gate is also reduced. so you have to relearn the positions and take care with the shifting so you do select the gear you want.

pointless bit of metal.

I have the new KAD "quickshift" and have to admit it is a great bit of kit. It has a quality feel to it and slips into each gear brilliantly, plus it has the little lift up lip underneath the knob to get it into reverse. If you're gonna get one get the KAD one...I wouldnt bother with any others

The same as any other. But note if you don't like it a new casing is needed or drills, taps and a lathe to make bits and modify the one you have fitted the gearbox killer to.

What do you want or expect to achieve by fitting one of these?

The answer will determine whether you will be disappointed or not after spending quite a lot of cash.

Generally pointless, although I have used one in a Mini based kit to resolve clearance problems

In the middle of the rejuvenation of my mini, in a lull in the proceedings I was struck down with KAD fever and bought a quickshift.  I like it but you do have to be more gentle changing gear but then my old Dad trained me to never use more than two fingers to change, he used to arm himself with ruler when he was teaching me to drive and crack me over the hands if I was wrestling the 'box :-)

I have a quick shift fitted to mine, I think short shift is a better name because it doesn't make the gear change any quicker, just reduces the travel of the gear lever. I prefer mine with it.
A lot of people dislike them as you can see from the many posts above filled with love lol.
As long as you don't think once fitted you can smash it into any gear as quick as a rally spec suburu impreza because all you do is destroy the syncro's. Just use it as a normal shift and you'll be fine, and yes they are easy to fit but stick to KAD.
Good luck :-)
