WHy do you want to change the dizzy? No point changing unless its modified... And I don't know if it fis SPI ( they still have the dizzy like  anormal mini though I think, its only the MPI with the coil pack?)

Hi, my dizzy at the moment is letting loads of moisture in so was gonna change it and then got offered the Aldon one. So you think it might not fit the SPi? Cheers.

Advance curve on the Aldon is for modified engine, I would just solve the moisture problem if your current distributor is in good condition. Is it building up inside the cap? do you have the small shield in the grill in front the distributor?

Yeah it's building up inside the cap I've solved it by putting a marigold glove over it and also fitted a splash gaurd. Just wanted to renew the dizzy really as this ones got a fair amount of rust etc inside. :-)

I assume your running the SPi injestor and ignition still? in which case you wont need the Aldon with advance weights anyway, yours is just a means to distribute the sparks

Yeah everything is standard on her. Would do any harm to fit it? It's just I can get it for £50 and if it'll do a better job than the standard dizzy is it worth it? Cheers.

you cant have the Aldon advancing the ignition and the ECU it wont work. If your going to convert to carb and convert back then yes. a 1991 car should not need a cat for the MOT, yours is one of the first SPi cars

Okay makes sense mate - thanks a lot for your advice. Will stick to standard dizzy for now then! ;-)
